Bassem Eid started to investigate human rights violations at home, now by the Palestinian Security Services. The picture at home was as dire. Bassem Eid thought only about doing his job, ignoring the danger. He investigated and reported about tortures, and became an outspoken critic of the Palestinian leadership. Then, one night, he was kidnapped from his home.
